Deadline for submissions: Sunday, February 12th

2012 Daily Reflections for our Journey through Lent Deadline for submissions: Sunday, February 12th
Redeemer is working to put together a devotional book filled with daily inspirational messages, thoughts and prayers both from us, and for us - to use during our journey through Lent. Please prayerfully consider writing a devotion to share with your church family. We need everyone’s participation! Your devotion may focus on a Lenten theme, a bible verse, or a story or thought that is significant to you. The book will begin with Ash Wednesday, February 22, and continue with a devotion each day through Holy Saturday, April 7. If you write your devotion for a specific date or event (Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday or a date that has special significance in your life) please indicate that when submitting your devotion(s). Devotions can be brought to the church office, or can be emailed directly to Mali Mayor.

Lenten Dramas

Our Wednesday evening worship services during the season of Lent this year will include short dramas. Please talk to Pastor Gary if you are willing to participate - step up and volunteer! Rehearsals will be short and sweet - so come and be part of this unique opportunity.

Ash Wednesday
Wednesday, February 22: 7 p.m.

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Ash Wednesday gets its name from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of the faithful as a sign of repentance. Plan to attend this penitent worship service as we begin our journey through Lent.

Soup Supper and Worship

Wednesday, February 29 Wednesday, March 7, 14, 21, 28 On Wednesdays during Lent, we will gather at 6 p.m. to partake in a simple supper of soup and bread, followed by a 7 p.m. worship service including Holden Vespers, and a Lenten drama each week.

Palm Sunday
April 1

Worship: 8 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Education hour: 9:15 a.m.

Maundy Thursday
April 5: 7 p.m.

Maundy Thursday reminds us of Jesus’ commandment to love one another. We are redminded of that new commandment every time we take communion – every time we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.

Good Friday
April 6: 7 p.m.

“It is finished.” Jesus’ last words meant that His suffering was over and the whole work His Father had given Him to do, which was to preach the Gospel, work miracles, and obtain eternal salvation for His people, was done, accomplished, fulfilled. The debt of sin was paid.

Worship Assistants

You don’t have to wait to be asked - volunteer! There are always openings for people willing to help on Sundays with liturgy, reading, ushering, greeting, counting, bread baking and myriad other tasks, both “seen” and “unseen.” Training can be provided so jump right in. If you are interested, please let Greg Keil Connie Carlson know, or leave a message in the church office.
