Food Bank

Redeemer volunteers served 171 families (more than 500 individuals) on Sat. Jan. 21st at Northwest Fish Food Bank. Thanks to volunteers who braved melting snow and ice that day. Food Bank was closed Wed. Jan. 17 because of weather. Our December food drive yielded approximately 400 lbs. of food and $470. Thank you for your generosity! You can donate non-perishable items year round, leaving items in Food Bank boxes in the Narthex and Fellowship Hall. The greatest need is for protein items (tuna, chili, pork & beans, peanut butter, canned meat) and baby items (baby food, diapers, formula). If you are able to volunteer from 11:30 to 4 on Wed. or from 10:15 to 3 on Sat., please talk to Tracy Keil or Pat Soderberg.
Kid Reach
Tuesdays, 3:30-5:00pm
Redeemer’s KidREACH tutoring program continues Tuesday afternoons from 3:45 until 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Eleven reading tutors coach eleven 3rd grade children from DeLong Elementary School. If you can help as a substitute coach occasionally, contact Marilyn Lewis, Kay Rozmyn or Tracy Keil. FYI: During winter storms, KidREACH follows Tacoma Public School closure decisions. Please continue to keep KidREACH students and coaches in your prayers.
Phoenix Housing Network
February 11th - 17th Redeemer will be hosting Phoenix Housing Network families once again during the week of Feb. 11 through Feb. 17, 2012. Sign up sheets for volunteers to help feed and care for these families are in the Fellowship Hall. We need bed makers on Sat. Feb. 11, overnight hosts, and dinner preparers and servers. Thanks to all who help in this ministry of hospitality.
Friends in Need
Thanks you to all who donate to build the Friends in Need fund on the third Sunday of every month. We fill emergency financial need requests for people within the congregation and for those who approach the church from outside our church family. Donation envelopes are found on the table in the Narthex.
